Hello, Rising Sun!

Thank you for reading and for supporting the Rising Sun Newsletter. I hope you enjoy this week's community highlights!

The streets and riverfront were filled with families, friends and visitors as Rising Sun celebrated Independence Day with an evening of live entertainment, food vendors, children's activities, and fireworks.

Kids had a blast playing in the foam party while others enjoyed the live music under the riverfront pavilion or grabbed dinner and treats from local vendors.

As darkness fell, the evening wrapped up with a fireworks display that lit up the sky over the Ohio River.

Thank you to the City of Rising Sun, volunteers, sponsors, vendors, performers, and everyone who helped make another memorable Fourth of July celebration possible.

Rising Sun officially dedicated its new America250 Monument on July 4 near the Veterans Memorial along Front Street. The monument commemorates the nation's 250th anniversary and was crafted by Jonas Memorial Arts.

The dedication ceremony included members of Rising Sun Masonic Lodge No. 6 and local Cub Scouts carrying the nation's flag.

The 30th Annual Shiner Pride "Show Your Pride" Car Show returns to downtown Rising Sun! Vehicle registration is 8:00 AM to Noon for $20 per vehicle. The event is a fundraiser supporting the Rising Sun High School Band Program, with proceeds benefiting local student musicians.

💰 Ohio County Community Foundation Annual Celebration Grant

The Ohio County Community Foundation is accepting applications for its 2026 Annual Celebration Grant. One competitive grant of $10,028 will be awarded to a nonprofit organization serving Ohio County.
